I swore I wouldn’t do this, but here I am…
Once again, I find myself sitting in front of my laptop at 5:30am, writing something that I think will be valuable for you.
I’m not saying I didn’t want to share helpful content with you ever again. Much the opposite. But for those of you who were here when I took my “content sabbatical” in mid-2018, you may remember why I decided to do so.
If not, allow me to share a little reminder…
For the last 3 years, I’ve been ruthlessly consistent with sharing content with my audience (consistency is kinda my thing).
It started with 100+ episodes of my popular podcast The Quarter Life Comeback, where I shared a new interview every Monday for 2 straight years, followed by writing a new article every weekday for 100 days.
However, as I shared with my audience back then, I decided to stop creating content until I hit my business goals.
So why did I decide to return?
Well, if I’m being selfish for a second, this decision is as much about me as it is about you.
See, to me, we always need to be creating. Whether it’s blogging, podcasting, videos, or simply writing in a journal no one else will ever see, there is a certain magic that comes from creativity which, I believe, is unavailable anywhere else.
The process of creating something out of nothing, whether you share it with the world or not (I choose to do so for the added accountability), is beautifully cathartic.
With creativity comes clarity and the opportunity to connect dots which previously seemed scattered and incompatible. It opens doors where there were once only walls and leads to relationships and opportunities that provide the next stepping stone on your journey.
Simply put, after taking some time off, I HAVE to create again.
And while the start of a new year is a perfect time to do so, the truth is there is never a bad time to shift into creativity mode.
That’s my nudge for you today: How can you add a little creativity into your life? Find a habit that allows you to put your ideas out there (whether externally or internally) and watch what happens as a result.
