Today I’m excited to welcome Doug Stewart to The Quarter Life Comeback podcast.

Doug Stewart is a coach, trainer, speaker and vlogger, as well as one of my favorite past guests on the show.

Back in episode 22, Doug and I spoke about his inspiring story of overcoming pretty much every learning disability you can think of to become a TEDx speaker.

But what I didn’t know when we last spoke is that Doug has been building up his own coaching and speaking business on the side for the last 6 years, WHILE working a full-time job and making time for his family.

Recently, Doug was able to leave his day job and go full-time with his own projects, and I decided to bring him back on the show to talk about that journey.

And of course, we got into other good stuff like time management, working for free and faking it ’til you make it.

IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL LEARN:

  • How to build your business on the side before quitting
  • How to combine practicality with your passion
  • How to use your day job to build the skills you need
  • How to tell if something should be a hobby or a side gig
  • Why work-life balance is a myth
  • How to know when it’s time to quit
  • Should you fake it ’til you make it?

RESOURCES & LINKS MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE:

QUOTABLES:

  • “Do it when you can tolerate the risk”
  • “Know what you want and go do that”
  • “It’s not about what happens. What are you going to do today?”
  • “You don’t have to know the end to start”
  • “People connect with our vulnerabilities, not our victories”
