QLC 020: Venturing Into the Startup World with Dakin Parker

Today I’m excited to welcome Dakin Parker to The Quarter Life Comeback podcast.

Dakin Parker is a former CA who left the corporate world to create a career which felt more in alignment with what he really wanted in his life. This led to a creative writing course and later, the startup world.

Skyping from his New York apartment, Dakin chatted to his family’s domestic worker back home in South Africa, who expressed how she wished her daughter could clean his apartment one day. This bothered Dakin, as he realized the girl could be anything she wanted to be.

As a lot of quarter lifers experience unhappiness in their careers, I decided to chat to Dakin about the startup space and whether or not it’s a good alternative work option to explore.
